My StoryI grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I played all kinds of sports.
I've always had Horses, and the Western lifestyle running through my veins. I attribute the love of horses from My Mother, Merry. Merry grew up on a farm in Northern Iowa owning horses. I was able nurture the love of horses, cattle, and the Ranch & farm life from relatives in Iowa, and Washington. I started taking riding lessons in Excelsior MN at the age of 10. I enjoyed many disciplines. I showed horses and took lessons for many years in English, Dressage, Jumping, and Western. Winning competitions in all events. I found my long term passion when I picked up a rope for the first time. At the age of Thirteen I took roping lessons, and continued with my passion for horses and roping. I am always seeking to refine my skills in the Art of Horsemanship, and Roping. Along with training and competing, I am a graduate of MN School of Horseshoeing. I have competed in College rodeos attending South Dakota State University. For many years I have competed in Team Roping-Heading & Heeling, Steer Wrestling, and Tie-Down Calf Roping. I've won Money, and Prizes at rodeos and jackpots in the Mid-West as well as in OK, TX, and AZ. My most cherished accomplishment, however, is Helping Horses with their owners. I have been honing, and refining teaching of students, and working with horses Full Time for over 30 years. I teach at Whitts End Ranch and travel to various locations I enjoy competing, demonstrating, and Ranching on horses I have "Trained". I also enjoy raising, and finishing Grass-Fed Cattle using Regenerative grazing practices, Low-stress horse handling of the cattle, and Improving the land and Environment. |

My Mission
is to help you have a supple, responsive, and willing horse that you can enjoy in the arena and out on the trails. I will work with a you and your horse to have an understanding of what is being asked on the ground and once this is accomplished will ask for the same while being ridden. This is accomplished by using techniques with the correct timing and feel that a horse can understand. Horses & Riders on Cattle can also a fundamental piece of the program.
This was not learned easily, or quickly by me, Expect this like, any artform, to take time, and considerable effort to comprehend.
It is never lost on me that my journey in life that has lead to where I am today, is purely from the Love of the Horse.
I did not grow up on a farm or ranch. I was not first exposed to a particular horse discipline, then decided I better get a horse to compete.
I was simply a Suburban kid that obsessed about horses.
I can appreciate the struggles, and perseverance of students with Roping, & Horses, because I am still learning!
