Here at Whitts End Ranch we raise and buy horses that we want to own and ride.  All the horses here are in our training program and are evaluated before putting up for sale, from young horses up to the finished horses.  A little about our program -

We pride ourselves on using our horses in various situations. The horses we have are asked to track and rope cattle,  go around barrels and other games. They are used out in the pasture for checking fence, moving horses and cattle, ponying other horses. They will get exposed to pheasants flying from underneath them, long trotting down miles of gravel road. Going out to events for days at a time being stalled with other unfamiliar horses and all kinds of situations they can not been exposed to at home.

They are asked to be tied up before and after being ridden. They will stand tied with other horses, by themselves and inside the trailer so that whatever you want to with a horse they are prepared for it.

At Whitts End Ranch you will not be pressured into buying a horse. You will be given honest statements about each horse and how you might get along with that horse.  Our goal is to fit the right horse with right rider, not to just make a sale. We know our horses well, they are part of our family. We have respect for our horses and want to place them in the right homes.

It is a matter of choices - pay for something nice now and have a great experience or get by with something for cheap and hope things don't turn out bad!

What is a good experience worth to you?

Peppy San Badger bred she has all the speed I need for the timed events and enough cow to make her a top notch competitor as well as a money earner.   Peppy was bred to my former stud DJV Johnni Frost and had a beautiful bay filly, and sorrel colt.  I are really excited to see how these foals grow up and performs in and out of the arena.

APHA gelding

Rater started his life as a bucking horse until Brian bought him as a 5yo.  After a lot of time and patience Brian was able to work with Rater and make him the top performance horse we now know him to be.  He competed in calf roping, heading, heeling and even barrels.  Rater is the ultimate all around horse and we are so happy to have him.  Brian has hauled him all over to competitions and he is a jackpot and rodeo winner.  Rater is now semi-retired and keeps the young horses company.
