Farrier Service
Brian attended school at the Minnesota School of Horseshoeing and graduated in 1998 and has been trimming and shoeing since then. The school was taught by Richard Duggan who has been teaching since 1971. Brian apprenticed after graduating from school to further his education and hands on experience.
We also have several horses at our ranch. Brian cares for all their feet from trims to more complicated issues. We have young and older horses that get care. He also cares for many local clients horses' as well.
Brian will communicate with you on what the best plan is for your horse, both short and long term caring for you horses feet. We have found that most horses do fine left barefoot with regular trims. Brian will access your horse, evaluate what is done with them and give you his recommendations without talking you into doing more than needed.
Working with foals and young horses is something Brian enjoys to make the experience as positive as it can be. If a time commitment is required for a horse that will not stand properly, a fee will be discussed before any extra time is spent. Generally only $20 extra for the additional time spent and Brian will share with the owner/handler how to work with the young horses feet.
Brian will consult with other farriers, Veterinarians, and the MN School of Horseshoeing on issues as they come up.
Current Rates:
Trim $40

Above is a horse we owned here at Whitts End Ranch. We bought her with the crack, she had very limited farrier care previous to coming to WER. You can see the progress she made. First pictures is from Jan 2012, second March 2012 and the last picture is April of 2012 when she was sold.
